So here we have a Presbyterian preacher who says God's name in vain and has sex before marriage. If you’re going to write about a biblical minister then follow the message of the Bible, please. This book would have been fine if this was just about a man with a calling trying to fix up a church. Either go biblically or don’t; you can’t do both because it doesn’t work that way. If you meant to write a secular book than commit to it and do it well. The story line is an abused woman who escapes her abuser, but has to leave her children behind with the abuser. This in itself is quite disturbing. Especially when we find there is no relationship other than a "step" relationship from a 3 month marriage. Actually it is not really believable. But, it is written well and you follow along with the story However the truly disturbing part of the story, the woman falls into another abusive relationship! She finds a job with a single minister and this man falls in love with her and keeps pushing her to have sex with him! THIS IS ABUSE! I really started feeling uncomfortable. She keeps saying NO. And he keeps pushing it. All in the name of love. She tells him that he is her employer, and she doesn't want to loose her job. And on and on... But, he shows up at her door and forces himself on her. In the end of course she falls in love with him and its all roses from there. No! Apparently , the author does not know much about coercion and manipulation. I finished the story, but I do not have a very good feeling after reading.
